Live from the 93rd Indy 500

Well, as I sit here in the stands, it certainly is fairly hot for this time of year. There is a little breeze and some rain on the radar to the south. It has been pretty cool up until this week.

The singing of "Back Home Again in Indiana", the National Anthem and the military fly over were awesome as always. They also did a 21 gun salute and played Taps to honor the military men and women who have lost their lives. After all, that is what Memorial Day is really all about. Remembering those who have given their lives to defend our country.

There was a bad start when some drivers jumped ahead before they reached the Yard of Bricks. They had to come around and line up again to start again! Then there is a wreck in the first lap. This could prove to be a very interesting race! And as I am writing this, in lap 21 there is another wreck! This could definitely be a very interesting race!

Wishing Everyone a Hoppy Easter

Just wanted to “hop” on to my blog and wish everyone a Happy Easter and share the card (alright, tag!) that I made for my family.

Spring?

I think that it might finally be here.  It seems like I have waited quite a while for it to show up this year.  Here is why I think it might be here:

 

I was wearing my winter coat, and my hands were freezing, but I was wandering around the grounds of the local art museum and their Magnolia tree was really trying to convince me it is spring.

I can’t wait to see what will bloom next!

It is under there somewhere....

This is what my Wednesday looked like. I have mentioned I really don't like snow, haven't I??? And this is alot of snow for us. Sixth largest snow on record, 13 inches!

So, I have to admit apartment living is pretty good; somebody cuts the grass, people fix things when the break....I am pretty sure that means that they should plow the parking lots and sidewalks. Turns out when they do plow, they plow the empty spot next to you and then you can't even see the side of your truck. (This pic is before they plowed!) And I have to tell you, living in an apartment.... I do not own a shovel! I spent the afternoon digging out my truck with a kitchen broom! Trust me I know how silly I looked, cause all my neighbors were doing the same thing!

Snow, snow, snow....

.....it just never seems to stop! And if you recall from my previous post, I really don't like it! The weather man forecasts another 10 inches today. Though I have to say, I am going to have some good pics to scrap and I have found the perfect kit to use and it is on sale!





Can you believe they put their entire store on sale! I feel some shopping coming on!!!

Home for the Holidays! And Birthday Wishes!

I made the long trek to Michigan on Thursday. The roads were in great shape, meaning no ice or snow! It takes a while to get here, but just being in my home state gives me a feeling of being home. Here is the rest area at the border.

I am not really a fan of snow but it looks so pretty on the trees.

So, I mentioned that I don't like snow, right, well this is why:

Is it a bad sign when the snow is taller than the snow blower? All that came down in about 8 hours on Friday, so my parents and I just stayed inside and just enjoyed our time together. This morning, Saturday, was soon enough to tackle that mass of snow!

I also wanted to say Happy Birthday to my crafty friend Tina! I got to have breakfast with her on Thursday before I left town so we could chat and catch up. Check out the gorgeous Christmas cards she made! She is so talented!!!
Well I had better wrap it up here and get cleaned up, apparently we are going shopping this afternoon!

Blogging from the Brickyard

How cool is it to be able to blog from the Brickyard 400? It is almost time to wave the green flag and get the race under way. If anyone is interested, I am a Ryan Newman fan. Alaska Update 2 and other news

So, when we visited Skagway we found all kinds of famous people. It was rumored that Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were there. We looked, but never did see them. And for those old enough to remember the late 80's and early 90's, we saw the Nelson brothers, you know, Matthew and Gunnar, way back then they when they had long hair. They actually performed on our ship the next night! BTW, much sexier with the short hair. They did a tribute to their father. I was impressed, I wasn't a big fan of their early careers, but they sounded awesome!

We also went ATVing (I am sure that is not a real word!) in Hoonah, and that was the most amazing time. I am pretty sure that I wasn't sitting on the seat for more than 20% of that trip! We took the ATV's to the top of a mountain that had an amazing view, so here is a pic from the top of the mountain in Hoonah.


We are now at the Anchorage airport getting ready to head home. Not really happy about that but I guess I have to go back some time.

In other news, have you seen what is new at Sunshine Studio Scraps? Oh my, I have missed a bunch of great stuff! As soon as I get home and get some sleep, the first thing I am going to do is get and that shop and spend some of my $$$$ that I didn't spend on the cruise.

I will be back with more updates as soon as I can.

Alaska update 1

For everyone that is keeping track, I am on the Radiance of the Seas, going up the Alaskan Inside Passage.

I have to be quick, internet access is .55 cents/minute!

I may not be around for a while. I am leaving for an Alaskan cruise today!!! I will be back on the 13th. If I can find the internet in Alaska (LOL), I am going to try and post some photos while I am gone so you may want to check in once or twice!

My Very First Blog Post!

Well, here I am making my debut into the blogging world. Should I curtsy? Wave? Smile and nod? There doesn't seem to be anyone here to shake hands with or to congratulate me. Is anyone even going to notice?

Am I surprised it has taken me this long to start a blog? No, not really. Up until two years ago my parents had a rotary dial phone. They didn't get rid of it, they moved!

So here I am greeting the blogging world with a big grin on my face and wondering, "What on earth have I done?"

So by now you are probably wondering why? Why did she start this blog? Why the big grin? Well, let me tell you....I am a Wonder Girl for Sunshine Studio Scraps!!! Can you believe that? Yay, Me!!!
